A 15th century manor house, transformed over time and generations of owners, into a romantic castle in the 19th century.
Architectural arrangements give us an indication of periods and styles.
The main body with its thick walls and its door appears to be from the medieval period, 14th and 15th centuries
The 16th century with its mullioned window and its Renaissance fireplace, the 17th century with the construction of the two outbuildings housing in particular the stables and accommodation for servants.
La Chartreuse with its walled vegetable garden dates from this period (the house no longer exists).
It was in the 18th and 19th century that the manor was transformed into a romantic castle, with on the one hand the extensions of the two small side pavilions, and the construction of a Louis XV style pavilion.
The caretaker's house as well as the exterior fittings are also from this period.
La Gauchetière is one of the witnesses of these residences of Norman vassals, transformed into elegant residences from the revolution to the present day.
